To paraphrase:
John Horgan on the BC Restart plan…. he says British Columbia is ahead of the rest Canada because there was not a complete shutdown. We need to keep gatherings small; a large event of more than 50 are not allowed
British Columbia is headed for its economic restart and we are expected to use Common Sense with some guidelines to help us figure out if a business should re-open or stay closed. This is going to take a new sense reason can your business keep people at a safe distance. Social distance is not going to disappear until there is a way to irradicate #COVID19. This would mean a vaccine. New standard are going to appear for industries so we can get our teeth clean, hair cut or go out to eat. Things like NHL may not be able to re-start because when a limit is placed on the number of people allowed to gather. The Health Ministry is placing a standard of no more than 50 people gathered at a time. Some space might be able to hold more people than 50 safely because of the size of the venue. For the most part, if you are a small business the 50 person rule is going hold true.
John Horgan has sent offers to leagues like the NHL to allow games to be played in venues in BC. The condition is that the games must be played without a live audience. TV access only for the National Hockey League. Some league like the CFL with the BC Lions need to have people in the stands to make money. We will be able to play hockey and baseball because we can observe social distancing. The whole point to everything we have to social gathering down until there is a vaccine for #COVID19.
