Born and raised in New York City, Caroline Schley holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Environmental Science and an MA from NYU in Education. She travelled all over the world throughout her twenties seeking adventure and employment and working in industries from event planning to outdoor education. She worked as a features writer for “The Tahoe World”, a white water rafting guide, a political street canvasser, a public relations pion before settling into a career as a high school science teacher. In 2018, at 35 years old she decided to take a sabbatical year to work full-time on writing a novel. She is currently querying her first contemporary young adult manuscript.
I want to talk about the importance of taking time for yourself, and also about the process, I have been going through writing my novel, which I think is relatable to any ‘side-hustle’-type endeavour and has the larger message of the importance of following your dreams.
