You open the kitchen cabinets to make chicken soup for your family. You find the pot you need to make soup for 5. Now you look in the frig for the carrots, onion and celery. You find 5 carrots, one onion and a bunch of celery but can’t find the chicken. Then you are also out of noodles for your soup. You have choices to give up on the soup or go to the store and buy what you need.
Before going to the store make a list of things you need to make the best chicken soup ever. You want peas, yams, corn, noodles, salt, pepper, garlic, sage and bay leaves to make a flavour-filled pot of soup. Now, you need your car keys and wallet for the trip to the store. You check the wallet for money and great you find $100. You do a happy dance the door to your car because you are going to make chicken soup for supper.
The car starts with a roar and you are off to the store but you don’t have enough gas to get there and back. That is ok because the gas station is only a block away on the path to the store. Again your internal happy face shines until you see the price of gas. The pot of soup just got smaller because of gas using $50 off your $100. That is ok because a french loaf is always good for soup and should only cost a buck or 2.
You are at the store and you start looking for all your ingredients and the prices. You find everything you need in the produce aisle. Over the meat section for the chicken and on the way you do a mental add of what the veggies are going to cost. Happy dance time you have $30 for the chicken, noodles and bread. Great have everything you need and your heading home to make soup. Get to the car and it won’t start you need a jump. Ah yes, I have BCAA and they tell you it will take them 2 hours to get to you and it is going to cost $60 for the service because you ran out of points. So you wait. When a passer-by says “ I notice you just setting there is everything ok.” You tell the story about wanting to make soup and you are ok because BCAA is the way to help. She says “ If you are in hurry to get home to make the soup I own a fleet of taxis. If you tip my driver $20 he will jump start your car. Good soup takes time to make. You respond no-no. She leaves when another lady stops to offer you a jump start with her car but you turn her down because you have a BCAA coming and they are professionals to start you up the right way. Four hours later BCAA does show up to jump you and by time you get back home, it is too late to make the soup.
