Journalism is about reporting stories to the public or providing information to viewers, listeners and readers to make choices in life, find events and more information and record history. Journalists have a huge responsibility to our community, delivering truth and information. The question today is what is fake, twisted or misguiding? Should a large corporation be allowed to twist its story so that it sells products for sponsors? Should governments develop laws that permit politicians to hide proof from the public or to control votes? Should the journalists face incarceration for reporting the raw truth to the public?
Selling more products is benign until a person is harmed. Journalism comes with tools like fact-checks to protect the public from harm. Telling a story should inform without causing unnecessary harm at times telling is painful for all involved is to tell the story. The job is to tell the story in a light that minimizes pain.
Mass media and government can control what the public thinks by controlling the questions. The answers will always be what the government wants to be known by ignoring certain questions. Unwanted information in the shadows in extreme some hidden information can be left so that people are left out of harm’s way. In some cases, governments have used the law to make the media conform to a strong official way of informing the public.
Some countries claim that independent media sources were reporting. Taking information many independent sources are supplied with good information. The government is afraid of uncontrolled information sources and light plays in the shadows and the information is in those shadows. The real fear is losing control of the general public with it.
some countries use the police in the military to hide information and agendas that control people in this the government may be trying to hurt people away from their houses been destroying them and then claiming they are involved in terrorism so that they can burn the homes attack hospitals without regard to human rights.
We watch these leaders use government use global government in places like the United Nations claiming the only way they can turn can force peace is with military action
And we have to remember, that many journalists are on the frontlines of truth and are using their words to defend social justice. And let’s keep supporting independent media and free media. At the same time.
