What kind of government do we need? We are in the middle of the pandemic when a call to a snap election is announced. Measures have to be made in order for us to vote safely without spreading the deadly coronavirus. Some candidates and parties are caught totally unprepared and racing to catch up. Candidates and parties had four weeks to get word to their platforms. Good news for print shops and graphic artists got business. Sadly for those parties and candidates that were not prepared, they are locked out from being able to get their materials printed. During this time of the pandemic reaching the public is difficult. With an extreme number of mail-in votes, the results will be delayed possibly a whole week. And why was this a watching call? Was it called to gain more power, or was it called to sure up things so people can stay safe?
It was almost a month ago when John Horgan announced the call to a snap election. Was like to think that a government official would always keep the public and residents and citizens safety close at heart. We have an issue going to the election during a pandemic. The issue is that in order to cast a ballot we might have trouble with the social distancing. Without the social distancing please spread the virus along with being October flu season is about to begin Wow we’re still in the Kovic 19 pandemic. With cases spiking in schools and teachers are at risk students possibly getting sick. Families are concerned about the safety in numbers of children in classrooms. The teacher union BCTF Is trying to ensure that our teachers will not get sick and help spread the virus further. Would be better to have the leader in place to guide this ship is called British Columbia through these troubled waters. Mr. Horgan said he was up for the task when he ran for election in 2017 or was he just simply looking for a way out of the coalition with the BC Greens.
Sonis Furstenau, the new leader of the Green party. He person A woman who is willing to work with other parties to strengthen our home. The Green party has a legacy of wanting to help bring ideas that will ensure our home British Columbia provides for everyone on an equal basis. This party doesn’t believe in special interest money or taking money from unions Just to further their cause. A party to believe that working with other parties while guiding us to better ways of living in harmony with our planet. Their platform includes better ways for healthcare. A better way for small businesses to thrive. It’s a party people is putting the right taxes and regulations in place to make it so we all have a happy home that we call British Columbia.
