You want to be seen as an expert write a book. Yes, this sounds like a daunting task and most of us Will say I’m not a writer. And I’m going to say back to you “you don’t need to be a writer you just need to know what you’re talking about.” If you are working with clients and your clients are succeeding in their task and you’re giving them results there’s a good chance you’re an expert. Experts write books.
The type of Book we are talking about is a “how to.” An instructional book that sums up what you do for clients. Okay, maybe about half of you are now on board with me. The rest of you are still oh God a book. Yet I was the same way. I did not want to write. But it will be coming and my book will be out there soon.
A “how to” book tells everyone that you walk the path first. I probably got a few more billboard now because you realize that you didn’t walk the path. This type of book makes you a tour guide through a process. Okay for being a tour guide into the process will not get you more clients. I will say this though an 80 to a 100-page business card is going to stay on someone shelf a lot longer than the 3 x 2 version.
It isn’t hard to do when you follow a simple process. Writing questions that people should ask you about what you do. Answer the 10 questions about what you do. Find someone to edit it. then publish. The writing part should take about a month to eight weeks. The editing part depends on your level of writing and when you get it.
Now that you have your book it is much easier to get media attention and prospects think “oh my god he wrote the book”
